Zürichur Theater Spektakel

Capitalism Works For Me! True/False is part of the 2025 Zürcher Theater Spektakel.

“We like it, but…” they said with just enough hesitation to make me worry, “can it be bigger?”

In cities and festivals around the world, no one ever asked me if the Capitalism Works For Me! True/False sign could be bigger. At 20ft long and 9 feet tall, it held it’s own in huge venues like Times Square in New York, Federal Square in Melbourne, Australia.

“Bigger? Sure!” I said. So we super-sized it.

Last weekend marked the opening of the 2025 Zürichur Theater Spektakel. Here in the banking capital of Switzerland – a financial hub for the world – false is well in the lead.

Maybe those tariffs can help?

The Zürcher Theater Spektakel is a place of encounter with international art. Since 1980, it has brought artists with diverse experiences, backgrounds and perspectives to Zurich. This openness to the world is one of the festival’s key contributions – both to the city and to Switzerland.

What makes this piece unique at Theater Spektakel is audience participation. We’ve got an amazing team of facilitators who are getting Swiss people to talk to each other – which, I’m told, doesn’t happen often.

The result? Surprising conversations, genuine reflection, and shifts in perspective and opinion. People are not just engaging, they’re taking time and enjoying it.

After Zürich

After Zürich, this edition of the sign is ready to hit the road! I’m already talking with folks in Austria, so if you – or someone you know – has a connection to a festival, let’s talk. This version travels well and makes a big impact. Put us in touch!
