The Budget Gallery is an ongoing project that temporarily transforms an under-utilized public space into an art gallery. Besides helping produce the galleries shows, I authored various conceptual elements that define how the Budget Gallery is run. For example, the traditional curatorial, exhibition, sales, and commission structures of a commercial gallery have all been modified emphasize fellowship, sharing, and trust in relative strangers. The openings themselves demonstrate alternative uses for public space. Since 1999 over 200 artists from around the world have chosen to participate in the Budget Gallery.
